Lengthy Legacy (One piece swimsuit)

This swimsuit is inspired by the symbolism of laughter, joy, story telling and community moves in ebbs and flows through an expression of vibrancy. These expressions are significant in Angolan culture, where the ETU’s origin story began.  

The story behind the color palette:

The colors selected for this design are unapologetically vibrant because they represent an intention to magnify the following:

• Hot magenta conveys vitality, celebration, and confidence

• Burnt orange evokes a warm earth tone, and uplifts homage to Huambo, Angolan soil that is symbolic ancestral grounding for where the origins of ETU meaning comes from in the Umbundu language which translates as “For Us”.

• Teal green represents water, life, and continuity and flourishing. 

• Deep black uplifts the journey, labor and contributions of Black labor and the stories carried before the creation of ETU by ancestors who contributed to  ETU’s origin story.

Material Fabric/Makeup: Ribbed one piece swimsuit material that is made up of 82% recycled nylon material and 18% spandex material.
